Railway Stability, Relbia, Tasmania (2010)
Martin was originally involved in the assessment of the realignment of the rail line which was to connect with a section of track known as the ‘Cradle’ which was identified as a high risk active landslide. Zivko undertook seismic refraction surveys of the slope and subsequent analysis indicated the high risk of landslide at the site which was not secure with the existing structures. The rail authority subsequently restricted train speeds through the area and extensive monitoring introduced.
