Buildings

INVERMAY INDUSTRIAL SITE, Launceston, Tasmania, 2014.  (Client: Fonterra).  Martin undertook a forensic study into distress of a large industrial building and pavements founded onto soft estuarine deposits.  Investigation included geotechnical drilling, sampling, analysis and prediction of long term settlements including review of pile design and failed rigid pavements.  Ongoing monitoring will be reviewed by Martin.

 

HOBART CBD RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, Tasmania, 2013.  (Client: University of Tasmania).  Martin was lead geotechnical engineer for an investigation for mulit-level student accommodation including double basement car parking in Hobart CBD.

 

BERRIEDALE HOTEL (MONA), Tasmania, 2013.  (Client: Museum of New and Old Art).  Martin was lead geotechnical engineer for an investigation for the proposed iconic hotel which has an extremely low level of redundancy being supported on a large central pier.  Martin undertook the PM testing in the sandstone foundation and rock engineering assessment including design of preliminary bored pile raft system.

 

HOBART CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT, Tasmania, 2009-2012.  (Client: SES Consulting/Gandy & Roberts).  Martin undertook the Geotechnical Review of the geotechnical information for the design of the proposed retail building on former Myer Site.

ROYAL HOBART HOSPITAL, Tasmania, 2010.  (Client: Department of Health & Human Services ). Martin supervised the geotechnical investigation Project involved foundation and footing assessment of existing 3 level building to support additional 4 levels.  Responsible for geotechnical/pressuremeter investigation and foundation modelling.

 

LAUNCESTON GENERAL HOSPITAL, Tasmania, 2009.  (Client: Department of Health & Human Services). Project involved redevelopment of main campus with new multi storey car park with basement.  Responsible for geotechnical investigation, analysis & report.

DEVONPORT LIFE SAVING CLUB ROOMS, Tasmania, 2009.  Martin was principal Geotechnical Engineer for replacement building on the foreshore which included car parking areas.

 

WOOLWORTHS SHOPPING CENTRE, New Norfolk , Tasmania, 2014.  (Client: Wallbridge & Gilbert). Martin acted as review of the geotechnical investigation and re-wrote footing design parameters and pavement treatment and design parameters.

PARLIAMENT SQUARE REDEVELOPMENT, Hobart 2014.  (Client: Stacpoole Enterprises) Martin has undertaken preliminary rock anchor and bored piling designs for construction of basement works.  It s proposed Martin will supervise and certify rock anchors for this project.
